An Introduction to the Public Law

The Public Law Outline (PLO) will replace the protocol for
Judicial Case Management in Public Law Children Act cases with
effect from April 2008. The new protocol aims to reduce unnecessary
delay and to put the child at the centre of care
proceedings by promoting better co-operation between all
the agencies involved.
Cafcass was commissioned by the Care Proceedings Programme
Board to produce an introductory video which will be used
as a training resource to support the implementation of the
PLO nationally.

My Needs, Wishes and Feelings
The Cafcass 'My Needs, Wishes and Feelings'
tool is a new way for children to let the courts know how they
feel. This video explains how the pack gives children and
young people a direct voice into the courtroom and helps them
become more actively involved in the whole court process, including
the opportunity to write directly to the judge.
