Member of Cafcass Business Support staff awarded MBE

Cafcass is delighted to announce that Beryl Cox, a member of Business Support staff in the York office has been awarded an MBE
in the New Year Honours List for her services to the administration of justice.

Based at the York office, Beryl started working for the probation service over 23 years ago and has been with Cafcass from the beginning.

Commenting on her award, Beryl said, “I am really pleased - it really is a great start to the New Year.  The way I see it is that an award for me is an award for Cafcass and especially for business support staff.  I have seen many changes in the family justice system and I am glad to have been a part of these. I value Cafcass and all of my colleagues and I want to thank them all. I am looking forward to going to Buckingham Palace later this year.”

Cafcass Chief Executive Anthony Douglas said, “Business support staff are the backbone of our service, keeping essential systems going every day. Recognition of the part they play, and of Beryl's work in particular, is brilliant.''
