Cafcass Young People's Board on BBC's Revealed
Cafcass Young People’s Board member Laura Healy will be appearing
on BBC Two’s Revealed…. Surviving their Divorce on
Saturday 23rd January.
Revealed is a fifteen minute documentary style programme for
teenagers that explores different issues affecting 12 to 17 year
olds.
On the show Laura speaks about her experience during her parents’
divorce. Commenting about the subject covered in this programme she
said, “Young peoples views are vital contributions to any
significant change regarding their family make up. Giving young
people a voice enables those involved to see the situation through
their eyes, rather than through the adults
involved.”
Laura, who lives in the East Midlands with her parents and three
younger siblings, became a member of the Young People’s Board
in September 2008, and has since branched out into other aspects of
participation within the organisation.
As well as work with Cafcass Laura is involved in working with an
affiliated United Nations representative – with current work
focusing on Restorative Justice in Somalia. Closer to home she
enjoys helping with an education group for children with learning
difficulties and aspires to follow a career in mental health
nursing.
Also on the website Young People’s Board member Libby Rees, who
wrote a book about her parents’ divorce, talks about her
views.
