Cafcass' progress in Sussex and Surrey 'Impressive and highly effective'
Cafcass’ service to children and families in Sussex and Surrey has been praised by Ofsted inspectors for its ‘impressive and highly effective’ progress in recent months.
The inspectors found that despite almost a 50% increase in the number of care cases referred to the area over the past two years, children, young people and families are receiving a timely service and all cases are currently allocated. Despite the massive increase in demand for our services Ofsted found that ‘good support [is] being offered to children and young people at times of significant change in their lives’. Inspectors also reported that performance in the area had improved to ‘a good level on most key performance indicators’ that duty allocations had ceased and delays reduced. Ofsted concluded that the team’s recent progress was ‘impressive and highly effective’.
