Cafcass Care Demand Statistics
These statistics cover care proceedings applications
made by local authorities where Cafcass has been appointed by the
court to represent the interests of children.
From September 2010, Cafcass care demand statistics will be
published on a monthly basis on the sixth working
day of each month, following month end.
The care demand statistics will be published on the following
dates:
Thursday 8th December 2011
Tuesday 10th January 2012
Wednesday 8th February 2012
Thursday 8th March 2012

Note: Figures are provided from our current
national case management system (CMS). The unit of measurement is a
case and is counted upon receipt of the application from the Court
and entry into our CMS. A case can involve multiple children and
multiple application types. The CMS is a live system and any late
entries will be accounted for upon the release of subsequent
updates to this data.
