Cafcass shortlisted for Children & Young People Now Awards 2017

 

Cafcass has been nominated for the Children & Young People Now Awards 2017.

We are shortlisted in the Recruitment and Professional Development category in recognition of our Practice Supervisor Development Programme.

The category recognises organisations, teams and initiatives which have made the biggest contribution to encouraging work with children, young people and families through change management or training.

The Practice Supervisor Development Programme has been instrumental in championing good social work practice at Cafcass. It provides a supportive career progression route for our strongest Family Court Advisers (FCAs) and improves our retention of high-performing staff.

The programme also enables senior FCAs to stay in touch with frontline practice while using their experience to support and guide others.

Crucially the development programme supports the implementation of our Quality Assurance and Improvement Framework, helping us provide a consistently excellent service to families throughout England.

The project began in 2015 when Cafcass introduced the role of Enhanced Practitioner, now Practice Supervisor. In the two years since we have seen positive development in the assessment and improvement of social work standards

The Children & Young People Now Awards are now in their 12th year. The 2017 ceremony will take place on 22nd November at Royal Lancaster London.
