Cafcass shortlisted in PPMA Excellence in People Management Awards
We are pleased to announce that Cafcass has been shortlisted for the PPMA Excellence in People Management Awards 2018 in two categories:
- Best frontline recruitment campaign – This shortlisting reflects the work Cafcass has been doing to attract and recruit high-calibre frontline staff, including in ‘hard to reach’ areas, to increase our capacity in a time of high demand. Work has included improving and expanding the reach of online recruitment materials to convey the appeal of the Family Court Advisor role and attract social workers and streamlining the application process. It also recognised the role of staff in supporting local recruitment.
- Improving productivity through better work life balance – Cafcass was shortlisted in this category to reflect our holistic, evidence based approach to health and wellbeing. Our H&W model looks to promote a positive work-life balance through tailored support and flexible and autonomous working, and support staff to maintain high levels of wellbeing and resilience in a high pressured environment.
Ian Turley, Cafcass HR Resourcing Partner, and Paul Simpson, Cafcass Senior HR Manager, said, “To be shortlisted for the Best frontline recruitment campaign is testament to the organisation’s appetite to continually evaluate and work hard to deliver change quickly and effectively. We are rightly proud to have our progress recognised but the key success has been sourcing additional staff to support our frontline staff to meet rising demand. We have already started working on further improvements to the service we provide to our frontline colleagues.”
Talking of the Improving productivity through better work life balance award Julie Bury, Cafcass HR Manager (Organisational Development) said, “The award short-list supports the great feedback we get from staff on how our approach to health and wellbeing is helping them feel better both at work and in their personal lives.”
James Hyde, Head of HR, said “Both categories couldn’t be more fitting in terms of our priority focus over the last year and more. There were many very strong submissions, so it’s testament to the work of all involved from both HR and the wider organisation.”
The awards ceremony and PPMA conference will take place on 19th April in Newcastle where the winners will be announced.
