Cafcass wins Best Frontline Recruitment Campaign at PPMA Excellence in People Management Awards 2018
We are pleased to announce that Cafcass has been awarded the Best frontline recruitment campaign in recognition of the innovative work the organisation has been doing to attract and recruit high-calibre frontline staff, including in ‘hard to reach’ areas, to increase our capacity in a time of high demand. Work has included improving and expanding the reach of online recruitment materials to convey the appeal of the Family Court Advisor role and attract social workers, and streamlining the application process. It also recognised the role of staff in supporting local recruitment. The impact has been unprecedented levels of new recruits.
Ian Turley, HR Resourcing Partner said, “We are delighted that the tremendous hard work undertaken by so many people across the organisation has been recognised. Following on so quickly from our Ofsted inspection and the ‘outstanding’ grade we achieved, this is another feather in our cap that we are extremely proud of.”
James Hyde, Head of Human Resources and Organisational Development said, “The competition in this category was fierce and winning the award is a fantastic recognition for Cafcass, for our HR service and for the work of many colleagues over the last 12 months to ensure that the changes we have made were always relevant and focused on the frontline and corporate resourcing task in hand. Increasing recruitment has been a high priority for us in order to ensure sufficient capacity to meet the ever-increasing demand for Cafcass’ services; which we have done, while also keeping our retention rates for existing employees high and above sector averages.
“Judges were not only impressed by our achievements and the quality of our resourcing strategy, but also by the way in which we were able to use the data and analysis to demonstrate the impact of and track the improvements in our recruitment processes.
The awards ceremony and PPMA conference took place on 19th April in Newcastle.
