MoJ Awards 2019: Cafcass Senior Service Manager, Carol Pennington wins ‘Inspirational Leadership’ award
The awards ceremony for this year’s Ministry of Justice (MoJ) Awards took place on Tuesday 29th January, and was attended by shortlisted Cafcass staff members who had been invited to the event.
Two teams and one individual staff member were shortlisted for an MoJ Award: the Commissioned Services Support Team, for the category ‘Efficiency and Value for Money’; the Diversity Networks, for ‘Diversity and Inclusion’, and Carol Pennington, for ‘Inspirational Leadership’.
We are delighted to announce that Senior Service Manager Carol Pennington won an MoJ Award for Inspirational Leadership. One of the reasons that was cited for this award was her unrelenting desire to improve outcomes for children and inspiring her team to develop better ways of working.
When asked about how she felt, Carol said: “I am still stunned. I really hadn’t expected to win the award. I don’t think I am particularly inspirational but I am very good at focusing on children and getting things done…perhaps that’s it!
“The venue was spectacular and it was really good to meet so many colleagues from the MOJ and the Permanent Secretary. I had no idea about the range of good work being done across the wider department.
“It was great to see such strong nominations from Cafcass in a range of categories.”
