Cafcass wins Family Justice award and the Safeguarding award at the Children and Young People Now Awards 2019
We are pleased to announce that Cafcass has won the Family Justice award and the Safeguarding award at the Children and Young People Now Awards 2019 for the Cafcass Positive co-Parenting Programme (CPPP).
The CYPNow Awards celebrate best practice in the sector, highlighting innovation and the positive impact of social work with children, young people and families.
Cafcass was nominated in three categories; the Safeguarding Award, the Family Justice Award and the Social Work Award.
The Cafcass Positive co-Parenting Programme (CPPP) was recognised in both the Safeguarding and Family Justice awards, winning in both categories.
The CPPP is a programme which supports parents to walk in their child’s shoes and imagine the experiences they are having amidst family difficulty. Delivered over a 12-week period, it aims to promote change between parents and reduce the emotional harm experienced by the child or children.
Cafcass Chief Executive, Jacky Tiotto said:
“We are immensely proud of the Cafcass Positive co-Parenting Programme which has been created to ensure that we are speaking up for children so that decisions are being made in their best interest.
“Several members of Cafcass staff have been involved in this project and they should feel proud that their work has made a significant difference to the children and families who we support during family court proceedings. Winning the Safeguarding and Family Justice awards at the 2019 CYP Now awards shows that this has been recognised across the sector”.
