Covid-19: New national restrictions

The Government has announced new national restrictions to come into force in England on Thursday 5 November 2020.

Cafcass is an essential public service, and as such the national restrictions will not directly impact on our intention to continue seeing children and families in person, if it is in their best interest to do so. We will continue to make submissions to the family court and to attend in person where this is required.

Courts are staying open and anyone needing to visit them will be permitted to travel. Children can also continue to move between households of separated parents.

In addition, the services we commission to support families – such as Child Contact Interventions, the Separated Parents Information Programme, and the Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Programme, can continue to be delivered.

We will continue to follow official guidance from the Government and will review and update our Covid-19 advice and guidance for parents and carers, young people and professionals accordingly.
