Cafcass announces new Board deputy and co-opted member

Cafcass is pleased to announce that Eileen Munro has been appointed as Deputy Chair. Eileen joined the Cafcass Board in March 2020.

We are also pleased to announce that Susan Smith, Associate Dean at the University of Sussex, has been appointed as an external co-opted committee member. She will be providing additional finance and audit experience to our Audit and Risk Assurance Committee (ARAC).

Speaking on the appointments Cafcass Chair Sally Cheshire said,

“I would like to welcome both Susan as a co-opted member and Eileen in her new role as Deputy Chair. Eileen is recognised as an expert in the field of child protection and the valuable insight and challenge she brings to the Board will continue to benefit Cafcass and the children and families we support as she takes on this new responsibility. Susan also brings a wealth of financial and audit experience at a time where we are boosting our skill and knowledge in these areas across our Board. I look forward to working with them both in their new roles.”
