Cafcass is proud to announce that a team of colleagues won a silver commendation at the Social Worker of the Year Awards ceremony on Friday 17 October.

The Silver commendation in Technology-Enabled Lives and Innovation in Practice Award was awarded to the Scribe Project Team for their work on developing a new letter writing assistant – Scribe – that is transforming how Cafcass colleagues communicate with children involved in family court proceedings and helping them to write personalised, child-friendly correspondence.

The Social Worker of the Year Awards champion the very best of practice and people in the industry. Dawn Goodwin, Cafcass Assistant Director and Principal Social Worker, said of the award: “Seeing our colleagues recognised among the most respected professionals in this sector reflects the exceptional standards and creative approaches that characterise the daily work of Cafcass teams."

Our congratulations to the Scribe Project Team for their success, to Daniel Kelly, Improvement Manager, for being shortlisted in the Practice Leadership and Management Award, Children’s Services category, and to all the other inspirational professionals who made it through to the finals.
