It is with the deepest sadness and regret, that we announce the death of Jack Cordery, our National Director of Operations who died unexpectedly on Sunday 17 November.

Jack was known and loved by many in our children’s social work sector and was an extraordinary leader, practitioner and mentor. His career was long and impressive, his passion unrivalled, his energy unmatched. His life’s work was to improve the lives of children and during his many years professionally, he did just that. Without exception, people knew him as a remarkable man, who made a long lasting difference and impact on all those he met and helped. His smile and his humour lifted us all.

Everyone reading this will be saddened by this news and for many, it will come as a shock. You will understand, everyone at Cafcass is trying to come to terms with this tragic and sudden loss and Jack’s family have asked for privacy at this time.

We continue to do our very best for the children and families with whom we work as Jack did each and every day he was with us. It was a complete privilege to have worked and collaborated with him. We will miss you every day Jack.
