Towards Outstanding


When Ofsted inspected Cafcass in February 2014 Cafcass was rated Good with Outstanding Leadership.

Cafcass has a strategic ambition to be recognised as an outstanding organisation. The most important motivation we have is to be ambitious for children and this means becoming outstanding for children.

To achieve this ambition we will:

  • ensure that we make a difference in the lives of children and families, with impact and child outcomes being central to all we do
  • use data to better understand our use of resource and productivity and build on our current models of best practice
  • focus on outstanding practice and drive continuous improvement through our Learning and Development programme, led by our Heads of Practice and Practice Supervisors
  • creatively develop our collaborative working relationships with stakeholders to improve outcomes for children in the national and local family justice system.
